Drilled Soil Nails - Site One Parking Deck
Raleigh, North Carolina
Morrison Engineers, in conjunction with North Carolina Shoring and Underpinning, was hired by Clancy & Theys to design and install a permanent excavation shoring system for a new parking deck structure in downtown Raleigh located next door to the existing Raleigh Convention and Conference Center.
Approximately 20,000 square feet of drilled and grouted soil nails with a shotcrete face that averaged 35-feet in depth was designed and installed along two sides of the site which parallel Lenoir and Wilmington Streets.
In addition to the drilled soil nails, a steel pipe soldier pile wall with a nailed shotcrete face was designed and installed adjacent to the existing Bank of America building.
