Listed on the National Registry, the Mecklenburg County Courthouse located in Boydton, Virginia is a historic Roman Revival structure built between 1838 and 1842. Morrison Engineers, PLLC was hired to provide underpinning and shoring of the foundation walls to stabilize the structure as part of the rehabilitation and addition to this historic structure.

The scope of work includes:

Design and installation of a temporary shoring system required      for the construction approach ramp
Design and installation of a segmental underpinning system
Installation of tiebacks for the underpinning system
Lintel design for widening (1) exterior access opening and
     (5) interior openings in the basement foundation walls
